Credit-Add Troubleshooting

Many machines have two (three on some Daido machines) LEDs that flash as tokens go through the coin sensors.  These can be used for troubleshooting credit-add problems.

Almost all problems with credit-add are due to two main issues:

  1. T-Taps not making good connection with the coin sensor wires.  This is usually do to wires too small for the T-Taps to work properly.
  2. Credit-Add wires swapped.

Start the credit-add mode by holding down button 3.  Both coin sensor LEDs should flash.  If neither or only one flashes, the problem is most likely a poor connection to the coin sensor.  Recheck connections and solder if necessary.

If both flash but coin errors are generated, the wires to the coin sensors need to be swapped.

Both “A” wires should connect to the same coin sensor wire.  This wire is then cut between the connections.  (Either “A” connector can go to either side of the cut.)   The same applies to the “B” wires.

Drop a token and watch the coin sensor LEDs.  Both coin sensor LEDs should flash.  If neither or only one flashes, there is a faulty connection to the coin sensor. Recheck connections and solder if necessary.  Many times, a coin error will be generated as soon as the machine is turned on with a bad connection on these models.
